RAEL Seminar - Foundations and Climate Change

Wednesday, September 26, 2007 - 5:00am - 6:15am

Presented by Eric Gimon

The context will be my involvement with both a large foundation (William
and Flora Hewlett Foundation) with extensive professional staff and a
smaller family foundation (Flora Family Foundation) with minimal
staff. I will briefly cover the motivations and methods in each case
and then give an overview of how each is approaching the climate
problem. The goals of the talk are to: (1) Give a sense of what some
foundations are doing to fight climate change (2) Give a sense of how
interested persons can best interact with such foundations.
