Wednesday, June 24, 2009 - 2:22am - 11:00am

SIXTEENTH REGULAR SESSION OF THE CEC COUNCIL
To be held on 23–24 June 2009, Denver, Colorado

The Chair will invite Daniel Kammen, Professor of Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, to outline the prevailing challenges and opportunities facing North America as each Party strives to accomplish a transition to a low-carbon economy in the years ahead. It is expected that this presentation will delineate the key areas in which policy coherence, at a regional scale, may facilitate this transition and, present for consideration, the potential for environmental and related policies to be positive instruments of economic renewal and sustainability.
